Gift Cards
Use this page when the reader needs the gift-card flow itself rather than the broader credits and packages reference.
Who this is for
- guests purchasing a gift card
- guests redeeming a gift card
- operators explaining how gift cards become guest credit
Navigation
- gift-card route:
/gift-cards
Standard purchase flow
Typical purchase flow:
- open
/gift-cards - choose an available amount
- choose whether the card is for the purchaser or another person
- enter recipient details when the card is a gift
- complete payment
- receive confirmation and the gift-card delivery result
Standard redemption flow
Typical redemption flow:
- open the gift-card redemption area
- enter the gift-card code
- verify that the code is valid and has remaining value
- move the value into the guest's credit balance
Important distinction
Gift cards and credits are related, but they are not the same thing.
- a gift card is the purchased stored-value instrument
- credits are the guest account balance that can be used in checkout
When a gift card is redeemed, the balance moves into credits.
Common blockers
- gift cards not enabled for the tenant
- invalid or already exhausted code
- guest expects the value to remain as a gift card instead of becoming credit balance
